Competition Heating Up in Orillia Retail Sector

With Wal-Mart set to open up a 170,000-sq.-ft. Supercentre Jan. 17, a Giant Tiger under construction on Atherley Road and a new location for Shoppers Drug Mart on Westmount Drive, Orillia will see an expanded retail market in the coming months. One quarter of the Supercentre's area will be dedicated to groceries. Giant Tiger, slated to open in late spring, will also offer a number of grocery items.
