2009 dismal for most, not so bad for grocersSales at supermarkets, grocery stores and convenience stores weathered the recession rather well last year, according to Canadian Grocer\'s annual Market Survey. Sales in Canada rose 2.8% in 2009 to an all-time high of $81.5 billion. Sales were up 3.9% in 2008. The full Market Survey is available in the February issue of Canadian Grocer, out now.
