Baskin-Robbins Co-founder Passes Away at 90Irvine Robbins passed away at his home in California last week at the age of 90. Robbins was born in Winnipeg in 1917 and opened his first ice cream store in 1945. His brother-in-law, the late Burton Baskin, opened his own ice cream store in Pasadena a year later and the two eventually joined forces. Source: Canadian Grocer E-Newsletter, May 12, 2008
