Soft Drink Manufacturers Get WarnedA U.S. consumer group has called for soft drink manufacturers to introduce cigarette-style warnings on their packaging to alert consumers to the health risks associated with the sugar-laden beverages. People who overindulge in pop are more likely than their abstaining counterparts to be overweight, to develop diabetes, to have decaying teeth and to suffer other health problems, the Center for Science in the Public Interest has said in a petition to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
