Softwood Lumber Dispute Might Squeeze US OJFallout from the long-running softwood-lumber dispute between Canada and its trading partner to the south may reach grocers' shelves. In a recent round of developments, Canada has sought permission from the World Trade Organization to impose duties on US products to counteract the American decision to impose duties on Canadian softwood lumber, despite a North American free-trade agreement. Although Industry Minister David Emerson has yet to declare which US imports could be targeted for duties, Florida orange juice has been cited as a likely candidate.
